Seniors Festival Multicultural Seniors Showcase (Pop up Performances)

Experience 4 multicultural events hosted by local community groups as part of the Seniors Festival 2024.

Join our special Multicultural Seniors Showcase as part of this year's Seniors Festival. Local community groups are hosting a range of performances around the city. No bookings are needed, simply turn up on the day and enjoy traditional songs, music whilst making new friends.

Ensemble Nostalgia Choir

Hear the Russian women's Ensemble Nostalgia Choir which offers musical performances showcasing multicultural songs. This group usually performs in synagogues, multicultural festivals and other venues around the city.

“Songs In Our Hearts” Lotus Choir Performance

Be charmed by Lotus Choir serenading you with the beauty of multicultural music from different countries in Europe. Get to know the wonderful members of Lotus Choir during the light afternoon tea after their performance.

Thursday 10 October | 1 pm to 2 pm | St Kilda Library

Tai Chi Performance

Enjoy watching Tai Chi performed with relaxing music, relaxed breathing and gentle movement which promotes a meditative state of mind and better health.

This event is proudly brought to you by the members of the Association of Former Inmates from the Nazi Concentration Camps and Ghettos from the Soviet Union.

A light conversation with the Tai Chi Team and a delightful morning tea will follow.

Cultural display at Port Melbourne library

Let the Greeks from the Port Melbourne Greek Community Senior Citizens Club take you back in time with their cherished cultural mementos in the form of handmade embroideries, tintypes and daguerreotypes photos of their old generations, potteries, traditional men worry beads, icons, and more.

This is a fascinating display of personal cultural items put together by the local by the Port Melbourne Greek Community Senior Citizens Club.

This display will be available to view throughout Seniors Festival, from 1 to 14 October,2024 at Port Melbourne Library.
