What do I need to know about the Inter Library Loan changes?
Libraries Australia are moving to a new system for Inter Library Loans (ILLs).
After a short break during this transition, Port Phillip Libraries patrons can now request Inter Library Loans through Library Link Victoria 3.
How do I request an Inter Library Loan?
Library Link Victoria 3 (LLV3) is a database that allows users to search for, and request items not held in the collection of Port Phillip Library Service (PPLS).
To request an Inter Library Loan (ILL) through LLV3, to the LLV3 website follow these steps:
How to search for an item
- You can make a standard keyword search or use more than one of the search terms (eg. Title + Author).
- You can by filter by format (eg. Print Book, Audiobook, Music CD, DVD Video) by selecting ‘Looking for a’.
How to request an item
- Once you have found the item you want to request, click the title and then click the ‘ILL Request’ button in the Access Options in the top right-hand corner.
- Under ‘Find your institution’ enter Port Phillip Library Service and click ‘Continue’. Enter your PPLS membership number and password, and then select Port Phillip Library Service from the drop-down list.
- Click the ‘Submit request’ button at the bottom of the page to finalise your request.
