Tuesday 8 October | 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm | Emerald Hill Library

Join us at the Emerald Hill Library for a fascinating talk by Robyn Watters from the Port Melbourne Historical Society.

Garden City is a historical gem in the City of Port Phillip, a low-cost housing estate created by the State Savings Bank for workers and low-income families from the late 1920s to the 1940s. Robyn will speak on her family's connection to the estate as well as to greater Port Melbourne.

These were the first Houses Built at Fishermans Bend and was sponsored by the State Savings Bank of Victoria. This later became Garden City. Reference: pm1092 (Port Phillip City Collection).
