Senior’s iPad Lending Program

Join our new iPad lending scheme for seniors over 60. Borrow an iPad with internet for a month at a time.

Are you over 60? Would you like to borrow an iPad with free internet for a month?

St Kilda Library is excited to announce the launch of our new Seniors iPad Lending Program. From Monday 3 June, we will have 10 iPads available for lending at St Kilda Library. Patrons 60 years and over will be able to borrow an iPad with free internet for one month.

All you need is a Port Phillip Library membership and a Victorian Senior's Card (or other proof of age).

How to borrow an iPad

Patrons must provide address ID that demonstrates they are 60 years or older (e.g. a Victorian Senior’s Card or Driver’s License) to register to borrow the iPads.

If patrons require assistance setting up an Apple ID and/or learning the basic functionality of their iPad, they can book themselves into one of our One-on-one Device Advice sessions when collecting the iPad.

Patrons can borrow the iPads for a 4-week period. This loan period cannot be extended during the first six months of the Senior’s iPad Lending Program (i.e. for the duration of 2024).

To register your interest for borrowing an iPad, please contact either Emma or Rubie at libprograms@portphillip.vic.gov.au

Digital Literacy for Seniors Program

These iPads were purchased in part using funding from the Victorian Government’s Senior’s Digital Literacy grant.

The aim of the project is to address digital literacy and technological disadvantage by providing iPads to enable Seniors to connect to the internet, participate more fully in the digital economy, have access to online services and resources and communicate using digital technologies.
