Share Your Memories of St Kilda Library

Share your stories of the St Kilda Library and its incredible history within our local communities.

St Kilda Library is celebrating its remarkable history in collaboration with Open House Melbourne and the University of Melbourne exhibition Taglietti: A Life in Design

Share your stories

The community campaigned tirelessly for a free public library in St Kilda. Their efforts helped create a library that architect Enrico Taglietti described as a welcoming place of refuge, designed to make people "feel more alive".

We're inviting you to share your own memories. Whether you borrowed your first library book here, joined a workshop or talk, studied for exams, met friends, or simply found a quiet place to belong, we'd love to hear your story!

Selected memories may be featured in a display, included in an online exhibition, and preserved by the Port Phillip Heritage Centre as part of our community's history.
