Storytimes at the Library
Baby Rhymetime
Introduce your little ones to the wonder of babies first books, interactive play, rhyme, rhythm and bouncy songs. Meet other parents and babies as you learn new songs and the importance of reading with your child.
- Suitable for children aged 0 to 18 months
Session times:
- Emerald Hill Library: Mondays at 10.30 am
- Port Melbourne Library: Thursdays at 2 pm
- St Kilda Library: Fridays at 10 am
Toddler Storytime
Toddlers love singing, dancing, listening to fun stories and rhymes. This is an interactive and joyful Storytime where caregivers are encouraged to engage with their children to model listening skills and a love of language.
- Suitable for children aged 18 months to 3 years
Session times:
- Albert Park Library: Mondays at 10 am and 11 am

Preschool Storytime
Bring your preschooler along to participate in a broad selection of picture books, stories, songs and rhymes, involving interactive fun and learning. Have fun while developing language, listening and comprehension skills.
- Suitable for children aged 3 to 6 years

- St Kilda Library: Wednesdays at 2 pm
Community Language Storytimes
Join a Storytime in your language!
We have regular Storytimes in seven community languages, including Amharic, Arabic, Hindi, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

Calm and Quiet Storytime
This session is designed for children aged 2 - 6 with sensory sensitivities, those on the autism spectrum and those who simply prefer a calmer and quieter environment than the larger Storytime sessions.
Enjoy interactive short stories, songs, movement and bubbles in a small group. Numbers for these sessions are limited so bookings are essential.
