Share Your Story

Join us for Share Your Story, a community oral history project where you can record your personal stories, poems, recipes, or memories in our new Oral History Room as part of the Australian Heritage Festival.

We provide the audio recording equipment, and you bring the tales that shape our shared history. Whether it’s a cherished family recipe, a poem, a joke passed down through generations or tales of going to school, your voice adds to the rich tapestry of our community’s past.

Participants will receive an audio recording of their story either via email or USB and can choose to donate their recordings to Port Phillip Libraries Community Collection, preserving these treasured memories for future generations.

Please Note:This recording space is currently only for local history recordings and is not bookable by the public for personal recording.

Australian Heritage Festival

The theme for the 2025 Australian Heritage Festival is Connections. The Australian Heritage Festival is coordinated annually by the National Trust of Australia.  

The Australian Heritage Festival is Australia’s largest annual community-driven heritage festival, created with the vision of recognising and celebrating the significance of our natural, historic and Indigenous heritage places and ensuring they are valued by Australians, protected for future generations and cared for by the community.
