First Tuesday of the Month | 6 to 8 pm | St Kilda Library Community Room

First session Tuesday 7 April

For April we are showing Paolo Genovese’s multi award-winning comedy of manners is a fiendishly clever take on decorum in the age of smartphones. During a dinner party, seven friends decide to play a dangerous game. The attendees place their cellphones on the table and agree to make all texts and calls public in an attempt to prove that they have nothing to hide.

Rapid fire and wildly entertaining, PERFECT STRANGERS poses the question: how well do we really know those close to us?

Winner of Best Screenplay for an International Narrative Feature and nominated for Best International Narrative Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Perfect Strangers (Perfetti Sconosciuti)
Country: Italy (Italian with English subtitles)
Rating: M

Each month, we invite you to the library to enjoy outstanding films from around the world. Our Film Clubs are the perfect way to discover powerful stories, unique voices and cinematic treasures — all while connecting with fellow film lovers.

Watching films is even more rewarding when you can share your thoughts and hear different perspectives. After each screening, stay for an informal chat where you can discuss the film, exchange ideas and explore new ways of seeing the world through cinema.

Sign up for our monthly adult newsletters and you will get links to book our film screenings direct to your inbox each month.

Please Note: These screenings do not run during school holidays.

Looking for more? Our collection includes a large selection of Criterion Films, as well as thousands of international films and documentaries available to borrow on DVD or stream anytime via our digital platforms, Beamafilm and Kanopy.

Whether you're a lifelong film buff or just looking for something new, our Film Club is a welcoming space to experience and talk about cinema with others who share your passion.
