About the book
"The Chilling" is a spellbinding thriller set in the darkness of an Antarctic winter that has left its characters with nowhere to run, but so much to hide.
Fleeing the wreckage of her marriage, Hobart-based scientist Kit Bitterfeld accepts a coveted winter research position in Antarctica.
After hearing a
distress call Kit and her fellow researchers find a ship completely on fire and a vanished crew. A lone survivor is found, but he cannot remember who he is or what happened to him.
Is the real threat lurking out on the ice or is it closer than they think?

Riley James lives in Melbourne, Australia, with her partner and two children. She was born and raised in north-west Tasmania and has been writing since the age of six. She trained briefly as a journalist before completing a PhD and becoming an academic. The Chilling is her first novel.
