Sinéad Stubbins is a Melbourne/Naarm-based writer, editor and cultural critic, and the author of In My Defence, I Have No Defence. Her work appears in print, online and on TV. She will be joining us to discuss her new novel Stinkbug.

About Stinkbug

When Edith and select colleagues from Winked advertising are sent to an elite work retreat in the remote mountains, she sees a chance to dodge looming layoffs and impress her bosses.

But this is no ordinary corporate retreat. Trapped in a converted convent with confiscated phones and increasingly extreme team-building activities, the "work family" begins to fracture—and Edith harbors a secret that could make her the office outcast: "the stinkbug."

As suspicions about Consequi grow, Edith faces a choice: conform and stay silent or embrace her outsider status and uncover what's really happening.

This wildly original corporate gothic novel blends anxious millennial fever dream with searing workplace satire—perfect for fans of Yellowface, Nightbitch and Such a Fun Age.

Light refreshments will be provided.
