Sing a Song of Sixpence featuring Delsinki, Brooke Taylor, and Joyce Prescher

Wednesday 10 December 6 pm to 7 pm St Kilda Library

Experience an evening of live music “in the round” — a special format where three singer-songwriters sit together, take turns sharing their songs, and tell the stories behind them.

It’s part concert, part conversation, and a wonderful way to get up close with the creative process.

Brooke Taylor blends rock, blues, country, soul, and pop into her fiery brand of alt-country, delivering raw, rhythm-driven songs with searing vocals. She’s played major festivals across Australia, opened for iconic artists including Luka Bloom and Tex Perkins, and tours as part of Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission.

Delsinki, a genre-bending songwriter and producer, brings a unique vision of contemporary Australian life, weaving words and melodies with insight and heart. He’s also the creative force behind Sing a Song of Sixpence, a celebrated “in the round” series.

Joyce Prescher’s music is nostalgic yet fresh, drawing comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen, with her latest album Out of My Mind earning national chart success.

Their performances are known for their improvisational nature, making each show a one-of-a-kind experience. Hugo Race/Michelangelo Russo truly push the boundaries of what can be achieved in the realm of music.

The Faraway Three: Jack Howard, Alyce Platt, and Nicky Del Rey

Thursday 19 February 6 pm to 7 pm St Kilda Library

Jack Howard (Hunters & Collectors) has performed with Midnight Oil, The Violent Femmes, Rodriguez, The Living End and more. Alyce Platt, one of Australia’s most beloved TV stars (Sons And Daughters, Neighbours, Sale Of The Century), has spent 15 years performing with her Fish Shop Collective and releasing acclaimed records like Funny Little World. Nicky Del Rey, one of Melbourne’s finest guitarists, has played with Tex Perkins, Intoxica, The Cartridge Family, Monique Brumby and many others.

Together, Jack, Alyce and Nick bring decades of songwriting and performing experience to their new trio. They’ve collaborated for over ten years, weaving trumpet, electric and acoustic guitars, and three distinct voices into a warm, spacious sound. Their performances combine soul-searching lyricism, melodic hooks and gorgeous three-part harmonies, with Jack’s horn-driven punch, Alyce’s sophistication and Nick’s touch of country – delivering songs that are as powerful as they are intimate.
