Smartphone Stories - February and March

Learn to tell stories about yourself and your communities by using your mobile phone.

Whether you’re a complete novice, or you already have some film-making experience, this workshop will equip you with the skills necessary to craft compelling films using your Smartphone.

Over the course of two days, you’ll learn how to write, plan, shoot, and edit your own film, all exclusively using your Smartphone. Acquire new skills, boost your digital confidence, create your debut film, and forge connections with your community!

Everybody is welcome and this is a FREE event.

About Daniel Schultheis

Smartphone Stories creator Daniel Schultheis has worked in community filmmaking and education for more than 20 years, was selected as an ISSI Fellow in 2013 researching microbudget movies, and is passionate about smartphone storytelling within community settings, delivering the Smartphone Stories workshop series to more than 500 people across Victoria since 2019. Daniel has also been a producer of television (ABC, SBS) and independent feature films, and is the founding committee member of Melbourne-based cultural diversity screen organisation Cinespace Inc, founded in 2016, and created its flagship program RESIDENCY.
