Pixel Playground: A Youth Gaming Festival

The Unsigned FReeZa Committee is taking over the Emerald Hill Library for a games festival for young people aged 15-25

Join in on our takeover of the Emerald Hill Library for a youth gaming festival of epic proportions, featuring industry workshops and panels, an indie games exhibition, competitions and more!

Compete with your friends for awesome prizes, dive into the world of local indie games, and learn about the emerging games industry from some of Melbourne's brightest up and coming gamemakers.

Panels & Workshops

Are you interested in learning more about pathways into Melbourne's rapidly expanding games industry?

Through a series of insightful panels and workshops, learn about navigating the start of a games career, discover the world of music composition and sound design in games, learn some of the basics of writing for games, and watch a live demonstration of preparing a cosplay look, all from emerging industry professionals.

Local Indie Games Exhibition

The Australian gaming industry is brimming with aesthetic beauty, insightful creativity and eye-opening narratives brought forth through surprising gameplay. 

Curated by Andy Brophy and Olivia Haines - local games exhibitors and creatives - explore the world of local game design featuring some of the best, brightest, and most ingeniously playful games created by local game developers.

The Arcade

Game on! Jump into the hot seat and battle against your mates in a heated switch tournament or just have some fun in our free play games area. We’ll have some epic prizes up for grabs too!

Alongside the competitions there will be some classic arcade machines to play, as well as VR to try out.
