About Jacinta Halloran

Jacinta Halloran is the author of the novels Dissection, shortlisted for the 2007 Victoria's Premier's Literary Award for an Unpublished Manuscript; Pilgramage, shortlisted for the 2014 Barbara Jefferis Award; and The Science of Appearances. Resistance was published in March 2023, and she is now working on a new novel. She is a former board member of the Stella Prize, and was a GP for many years.
Halloran's new novel Resistance is a surprising, insightful and layered work of literature that explores family and secrets, and the ethics of mental-health care. It examines the unfathomable mysteries within our families, it also questions how we retell our history, both personal and collective.

About Leah Kaminsky

Leah Kaminsky is a physician and award-winning writer. Her debut novel, The Waiting Room, won the Voss Literary Prize. The Hollow Bones won both the Literary Fiction and Historical Fiction categories of the 2019 International Book Awards, and the 2019 American Book Fest’s Best Book Award for Literary Fiction. Kaminsky's new novel Doll’s Eye weaves an intriguing story of love, loss and survival against a backdrop of war and displacement. Evocative and compelling, it brings into question the gap between what we see, and what we don’t.
