Volunteering
The library offers volunteering opportunities to assist with various programs and services, like the Home Library Service, Homies Homework Club and English Conversation Cafe.
We are seeking applications for volunteers to assist with these important and rewarding programs.
Volunteers will need to:
- Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English language.
- Demonstrate patience and confidence in working with community members from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Have current Police and Working with Children Checks (free for volunteers and the library will assist you with obtaining these).

Work placements
The library is happy to take on short term work experience placements, whether it be:
- community work
- high school placements
- university and further education placements
- return to work programs
- new migrant programs
For insurance reasons, work experience must be under the auspices of an academic institution or government sponsored organisation.
The library is a popular place for work placements so we do advise that you contact us as soon as possible. There is a limit on the number of placements we can offer at a given time. To register your interest in a work placement, please reach out on our contact page.
