Reserve or request an item

Reserving an item

If an item you wish to borrow is located at one of our Libraries other than your regular branch, you are able to search the catalogue reserve it. This item will then be sent once available, to your prefered branch for collection.

  1. Open our Library OPAC
  2. Enter your current username and password in the login box (top right hand corner), then press Login
  3. Locate an item you wish to reserve via keyword terms (For example title, author or subject)
  4. Select the item by pressing on the Title on the search results page. (A page will open with further information on the item)
  5. Press on the Place Reserve button on screen.

    Your item is now reserved and you will be notifed when it is available to be collected, from chosen location.

    Please note that reservation will be held for 7 days. After this time the item will be sent onto the next borrower, or be placed back on shelf.

Once you locate an item, simply click the Place Reservation on screen.

New reservation limits:

From 5 October we will be introducing reservation limits on some library items. These limits will allow our community greater access to Library collections. All existing reservations that exceed these new limits will be honoured.

New limits:

  • Limit of 50 reservations on DVDs
  • Limit of 4 reservations on Blu-Rays
  • Limit of 3 reservations on VOX collection items.
  • Limit of 4 reservations on Console Games.

  • There is no current charge for item purchase requests. Please refer to our current Collection Development Policy for further information on our guidelines.

Please follow the steps below to recommend an item for the Library to purchase.

  1. Open our item purchase request form
  2. Enter current username and password in the login box (top right hand corner), then press Login
  3. Enter the items information such as Title, Author and year of publication.
  4. Press Place Request

Request an Inter Library Loan

Our regular Inter Library Loan service will be unavailable during the COVID-19 Library closure period.
