Using the library for research

  • Our staff promote the development of key skills and capabilities
  • The library is a safe place with quiet spaces for research and free internet and wi-fi access.

Maximise the success of your visit

Prepare – bring your research questions, library card, pen, paper and photocopying money (20c a page).

Leave lots of time – if you leave it to the last minute all the books might be on loan. Don’t fret! We still have online resources and reference books that you can use in the library.

Ask yourself the question – think about your topic before you start. What do you need to find out? Think who? What? When? Where? And why? about your topic.

Never leave without asking for help – if you haven’t found what you are looking for just ask for help! Our staff can give you a hand.

Online Reference Resources

Can’t find what you want in the library? Don’t have time to visit? Explore our Online Reference Resources where you can search for information on our online databases.
