Covid-19 Library Service Update 26 June

Service Changes

Over the past four weeks we have successfully delivered our initial limited service model to the community, offering timed library visits and an express Click-and-Collect service for reservations. It’s been fantastic to see local families and familiar faces stopping by to pick up their latest read and to say hello.

With the success of our initial three-branch opening model, and the current COVID-19 restrictions, we have decided to open our Emerald Hill Branch from Wednesday 1st July.

Emerald Hill will offer the same 30 minute / 20 people sessions that we have implemented at our Port Melbourne and St Kilda branches, however due to resourcing and COVID-19 space guidelines we will not be offering Click-and-Collect, and the Heritage Centre will not be available.

Please also note that due to the current environment our usual speedy returns process has been held up by the need to quarantine items for several days. This means that items may remain on your account longer than you would usually expect. If you receive an overdue notice for an item you have returned, rest assured that we do not have overdue fees and you are welcome to continue borrowing items.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work towards re-establishing our services to the community.

Please note that our Storytime sessions will continue to be delivered online for the moment, check out our Storytime playlist on Facebook

What is Click and Collect?
