Computer and internet access
The library offers free computer, internet and wireless access.
All users must agree to our Computer User Agreement when logging in. If you are under 18 your parents or guardian must sign a form on your behalf.
Free wireless
We offer free wireless internet access for everyone. Users must agree to the Wireless Conditions of Use when using this service.
Wifi is available at Albert Park, Emerald Hill, Port Melbourne and St Kilda branches.
Book a computer or other resource
Book a computer online or contact a branch of the Port Phillip Library Service.
You can also book our AV rooms, game consoles, word processor PCs and study rooms using this site.
You will need your library card and PIN / password to access this service.
Free computer and internet access
You must be a member of the library to use our PCs and equipment.
Use of the computers is free.
All users must agree to our Computer User Agreement when logging in.
Printing costs 20c per page (black & white documents) or $1 per page (colour documents).
Scanners are available at some branches.
Entitlements
In order to ensure equitable access to a popular service there are limits on the length of time you may use a computer each day.
Bookings are held for 10 minutes only.
Internet PC
- Internet PCs may be booked for up to 1 hour per day. You may have only 1 advance booking at a time.
- Available at all branches.
15 minute Internet PC
- St Kilda and Albert Park libraries have a 15 minute PC for quick access. 1 booking per day.
Word processor
- Up to 1 hour per day. 1 advance booking at a time.
- Available at St Kilda branch.
Local history PC
- Up to 1 hour per day. 1 advance booking at a time.
- Available at Albert Park, Port Melbourne and St Kilda branches.
Games consoles
- 1 session per day up to 1 hour. 1 advance booking at a time.
- PS3 / Xbox360 / Wii available at St Kilda branch. Wii available at Port Melbourne branch.
Access PC
- Only available to patrons who need to utilise its special access features. If you are such a patron you may have up to 2 hours per day. 1 advance booking at a time. For more information see Access All Abilities (link).

Access All Abilities
St Kilda library has an enhanced internet and word processing facility to improve library access for people with special needs.
This computer is set aside for users who have conditions which prevent or impede them from using the library's other standard-interface internet computers.
